Stranger Things: The Other Side (Stranger things comics #1-#4) Review

Stranger Things: The Other Side (Graphic Novel Volume 1)

Goodreads

I’m a big fan of Stranger Things so I was excited when I  discovered this comic! I really enjoyed the artwork and I liked that we got to see what happened to Will in the Upside down. I will warn you that I don’t think you will like this comic if you haven’t watched the show. I’m interested to see what they will do next.

Saving Meghan by D.J. Palmer Arc Review

Saving Meghan

Goodreads

This was an interesting thriller. This book makes you question every character and their motives. There was tons of suspense and plenty of twists and turns. The writing kept me intrigued trying to figure out if  I could trust any of the characters. None of the characters were likable. So if you don’t like unlikeable characters than you might want to skip this. However, if you are looking for a good thrill then I  suggest you pick this up!

I received an arc for my honest opinion and all opinions are my own.

My Name is Victoria by Lucy Worsley Review

My Name is Victoria

Goodreads

This was an interesting tale of two girls named Victoria. This book is based on true historical events but the author did her own spin on it. This book is full of friendship and the girls discovering who they are, especially Miss V. I really liked the authors spin on what happened to Princess Victoria.  I thought it was interesting and a creative twist. I don’t want to say too much because I feel like I’ll spoil it. It was a delightful read!

Tudor Rose by W.H. Doyle

Publication Date: April 9, 2019

Publisher: Month9Books

In 16th-century England, two teenage best friends find themselves on an exciting journey from the country to the Queen’s court in the hope of being named ladies-in-waiting. But Sybille and Rose soon discover they aren’t the only girls who have their sights set on attending Her Majesty.  The girls must compete against worldly and cunning opponents, among them mean-girl Avis and her entourage of back-stabbing co-horts, tipping the balance in their already-tenuous friendship.

Soon, the grand hall is more like the hallway of a prestigious finishing school, with girls fighting for the attention of a dashing, young earl, amid parties fueled by drinking and indiscriminate dalliances. As the tension between Sybille and Avis heats up, the focus on Rose wanes, allowing her to turn her attention to more important matters – like getting close enough to the Queen to learn her secrets.

But being close to the Queen is not without its challenges. And when rumors of Rose’s influence make their way around the castle, no one, not even the Queen, will be safe.

by Laurie Elizabeth Flynn

Publisher: Imprint

Release Date: April 16th 2019

Genre: Young Adult, Contemporary

Synopsis:

Something made him angry that night.

Something made her cry.

Something made Trixie disappear.

What if it was all the same thing?

Fiona claims she doesn’t remember anything about the night her best friend left a party early and walked into the ocean. But the truth is, she wishes she could forget.

Trixie’s disappearance is ruled a suicide, but Fiona starts to believe that Trixie isn’t really dead. Piecing together the trail of a girl who doesn’t want to be found leads her to Jasper, Trixie’s former friend with benefits, and Beau—the boy who turned Fiona down, who loved someone else, who might be happy Trixie is gone.

The closer Fiona gets to finding out what happened, and the closer she gets to Jasper and Beau, the more she realizes that the girl she knew better than anyone may have been a carefully constructed lie—and she might have been waiting to disappear the entire time.

Told in alternating chapters between the past and the present, Last Girl Lied To is a gripping emotional thriller.

My Review

Last Girl Lied To was a suspenseful, dark read full of secrets for you to discover! I really liked the writing style and thought it was unique. I loved the fact that the narrator was unreliable. That makes it harder for the reader to figure out the mystery, which I love! I liked the fact that the characters were flawed. I really enjoyed reading Last Girl Lied To! If you like mysteries then you should pick this one up!

Favorite Quotes

When you put them on either side of a scale, they never weigh the same. One is bound to be heavier.

And maybe the problem isn’t who I let in, but who was already here.

After all, lies that make other people feel better must be kind of okay.

Mine decided to betray me, just like the people I let into my life.

My Review

The Haunting of Elmwood Manor was such a fun and thrilling paranormal mystery! Plenty of adventure, friendship and of course ghosts! I really enjoyed this book and I can’t wait to read the next one!

Author Bio:

Pam was born in Arkansas several decades ago. She’s not sure if that makes her a Southern Girl or if moving to Southern California when she was five revokes her Southern Girl card. She started writing later in life when she was challenged by a friend to create a book out of his story idea. Reaching the first 5,000 words was a milestone, but with time and hard work she managed to finish an entire book, much to her surprise. Since then, she’s written several novels, in several genres. Romance, middle grade and paranormal comprise most of her work. Pam has spent over 40 years working as a legal secretary at a law firm in Orange County, California. Aside from writing, she follows the stock market, buying, selling and trading stocks and options. In contrast to that, she loves trips to Las Vegas where she can spend many happy hours at the Pai Gow tables. She shares a condo with her very own My Cat From Hell TV star, Allie, who manages to exude just enough affection to make her scary feral ways tolerable.
